ADDICTED TO GESTALTUNG
This experiment pushes the actual symbiosis between graffiti and graphic design on a higher level and finally merges them together. At the beginning of the project, the kind of work which will be produced and all additional influences have been unknown and not important. The only requirement before starting was the idea of working in two steps: first the graffiti approach – preferably a spray-painted wall – after that the topic is dealt with graphically – with the help of design tools, like printing, photography and computer design. There was always one goal and one idea but there have been at least two ways to realise it.
// The works were developed on trips throughout Europe. 27 writers from nine countries have been visited and individual concepts have been worked out with every one of them. The aim was to find innovative and independent ideas that deal with the genres graffiti and graphic design in form and content but at the same time were open for anything else.
//The participants are active graffiti writers who are engaged in graphic design either professionally or in free work. Two exceptions among those 27 artists are one writer with no computer experience and one designer without any graffiti background. All participants are between 21 and 36 years old. There are internationally well-known writers who are considered among the best in Europe, as well as activists who put their name on the map in the graffiti and design world over the past few years. This selection provides the basis for multi-faceted and high-quality working.

Dyset started 7 tours through the following 9 countries: Germany, France, Switzerland, England, Belarus, Spain, The Netherlands, Belgium and a special appearance of USA. The project took place from June to November 2005.
